Thinking Aloud

On a more serious note...

Saturday, January 28, 2006

I would like to send my condolences to the family and friends of Christopher "Toffee" Garlan who passed away last Tuesday. He was under a comma after undergoing an open heart surgery that would supposedly replace two out of the 4 valves in his heart.

I first met Chris when we were under the Special Applications Team (SAT 4 am). I fondly remember Chris as a very hardworking individual, always trying his best to improve in what he does. He was one of the more "technically gifted", guys I've known and he was always willing to share it to colleagues who asked for technical inquiries.

His stature is exactly the opposite of what this guy really is. When you see him at first, about 5'10, long and lanky frame with a huge voice you'll find it hard not to be intimated and at a point be scared of him. But Chris as a person, once you get to know him is a sensitive individual, "gentle giant", as the term implies.

We'll miss you but at the same time we're happy for you because as your email read "If I won't make it through, be happy still... for you know that I'm in good hands, There can be no other place much better than with God."

Je'Taime

Wednesday, January 25, 2006

While on my way to work someone texted me this word and I immediately asked her what the meaning of the word was. She said that I had to find out for myself.

So I arrived at the office, opened my computer and launched Google, typed in "Je'Taime", and pressed search! Much to my dismay Google didn't seem to give me any relevant matches. So I tried again, this time typing in Je'Taime + definition but again I wasn't able to find any good hits. So then I decided to search for an online translator and typed "Je'Taime", and translate from French to English (had the strangest feeling that this is in fact a french word). Unfortunately, the English translation alos came out "Je'Taime". Tried several translators but got the same results..

I could not believe that I was having such a difficult time finding a direct translation/meaning to this word. Especially with all the resources that we have on the internet. So after another 30 minutes of searching and browsing I then decided to ask her again what the word meant and she actually did tell me what the word meant!

It certainly turned out to be a pleasant surprise! Je'Taime!

I've been struggling with this feeling for a couple of days now. I know that I shouldn't be feeling this way, it's just too fast and besides we never really know each other that well.

Why did she have this effect on me, this ain't right! It just would not work, we both have our own lives to live. Aside from the fact that she'll be leaving the country in a few weeks to pursue her career.

But there's something in me that screams out her name. Her voice calms my troubled sentiments and leaves me hanging by her every word. My day seems to start and end with the thought of her. I've never felt this way in a while. Feelings of contentment, satisfaction and pure bliss ran through me whenever Im with her.

Darnit!

Pacman! Pacman! Pacman!

It's been a while since I last updated my blog. Just been busy this past few days, anyways here Iam to once again fill you in on what's been happening to me this past few days.

I was supposed to go to Lou and Jessa's despidida party last night at Music 21. Unfortunately my parents called me (I was at April's house), around 6-7 pm telling me that I needed to accompany my tita to Laguna because she had to get something from our lola's house and bring it back for my mom. It was a bit heavy so she needed to have someone tag along and help her carry it back to our place. Bummer! I was really looking forward to seeing some of my former co-workers and it really was disappointing. Well, maybe we could just do this again some other time in Dubai. Hehehehe.

I would also like to congratulate Manny Pacquiao for destroying Erik Morales by dishing out a 10th round KO in their fight which was held earlier today. Manny Pacquiao proved to be the better conditioned fighter, outlasting his counter part and proving once again that he is a force to reckon with inside the square ring.

After going through Morales, talks have been lingering on who Pacquiao would fight next. According to sources, Pacquiao and Morales signed a contract binding them to 2 more fights under their current promoter. Which means that the rubber match between Pacquiao and Morales is a definite possibility.

There's also talk about a Pacquiao-Barrera rematch for the WBC Super Featherweight Championship. A Pacquiao-Marquez rematch also seems to be a possibility, especially because their first match ended up in a draw.

Hey whoever they decide to throw at Pacquiao, bring 'em on! Im sure our very own "Pacman" Pacquiao would make minced meat out of 'em!

What About Love

Monday, January 16, 2006

There's one song that has really caught my fancy. I love the melody plus the singer's voice (Lemar), is so soothing. The song's title is WHAT ABOUT LOVE by Lemar I suggest you download a copy of the song and listen to it. Enjoy!

WHAT ABOUT LOVE

What if I took my time to love you?
What if I put no one above you?
What if I did the things
That really mattered?
What if I ran through
Hoops of disaster?

No one would care if
We never made it
We're in this alone
So why don't we face it
There is no room to
Blame one another
We just need time to
Forgive each other

[Chorus:]
What about love?
What about feeling?
What about all the things that make life worth living
What about faith?
What about trust?
And tell me baby...what about us?

How can I give this
Love a new beginning?
How can I stop the rain?
It's never ending
How do I keep my soul believing?
Memories of how we
Should be keep calling

[Chorus]

I'll take the rivers rise
I'll take the happy times
I'll take the moments of disaster

[Chorus]

Indecision

Sunday, January 15, 2006

I guess it does come in everybody's life, this thing they call QUARTER LIFE CRISIS. At 25 years I've come to a point where I don't exactly know what to do with my life. I mean don't get met wrong Im not complaining, but for some reason I sense that I need a major change in my lifestyle. It's as if there's something that I need to do, achieve, change, I just couldn't get a grasp as to what it is.

One thing, I've been planning to go abroad and pursue my career. Some of my colleagues will be flying to Dubai this February 2 and I was thinking of following them probably by March or April with some of my other officemates. But the thought of leaving my family, friends, loved one makes me second guess whatever decision I've made regarding this matter. Of course we should strive to improve our status in life but I just don't think I'll be able to leave everything that I've got here and try my chances in a foreign land. So Im caught up between the thought of advancing my career, living the good life as they say or staying here with the ones I love and living a "so-so", lifestyle. Thus the indecision....

Also, at 25 ideally I would have wanted to have my own family. April and I have had our relationship running for about 7 years and 4 months. We've been through almost everything and some. I really would want to settle down with her and start our own family but then there's the question of are we ready to take on this major responsibility. For one, I don't think that we're financially stable to start our own family. Add to that the fact that we've been having some issues this past few months. I truly hope we could get past everything and stay strong because I really would want to spend the rest of my life with her.

Barako Boyz (2nd Session)

Thursday, January 12, 2006

After our shift, me and the "Barako Boys," tropped to Barako Bar, now considered our homebase. We had another one of our weekly sessions which I've noticed has been becoming more frequent the past few weeks.

As usual we had tons of beer and "pulutan" to go around. I had 2 bottles of San Mig Light and 2 cans of soda. I was so full that I basically had to drag myself home, man the food there was superb! We had barbeque, sisig, tokwa't baboy and the best chicharong bulaklak I've tasted. Also the prices are very affordable and the service is quite ok too.

Session ended at around 11pm and I was able to get home at around 12 in the afternoon. Many thanks to Mr. Marvin Medina for shouldering most of the expenses, Belated Happy Birthday Sir!

Happy Birthday!

Tuesday, January 10, 2006

I would like to greet my mother a Happy Birthday! Thanks for everything! Also, April's mom is also celebrating her birthday today, Happy Birthday ma'am. Good health and good luck to both of you and hoping that you have more birtdays to come.

------------

Carlo sent me pictures of our class reunion last year. Thinking about it, I really miss our college days. The antics that we used to pull on some of our classmates. The "overnight sessions,'' that we used to have just so that we could submit our thesis in time for our graduation. The weekend night-outs where we were exposed to the "naked," truth, and believe me it was really naked.

But what I really miss are the friends that I've met during those 4 years of college. We rarely, see each other anymore. Anyways, hope this New Year brings us more oppurtunities to see each other again.

Creative Muvo V200

Sunday, January 08, 2006

I met up with my girlfriend today, her name is April. I was supposed to give her my very much delayed Christmas Gift.

Now you might ask, "why in hell did it take me 2 weeks to give her my Christmas Gift." Well for one I was checking out reviews for different MP3 players available in the market. I mean if I'm going to give her this as a gift it should be at least one of the best out in the market.

Another reason, was that my schedule was packed this past few weeks and I haven't been able to go to malls by myself. When I'm not at work I'm with April spending as you might all know, "quality time."

Anyways, after days of careful thinking and a couple of sleepless episodes I decided to give her a Creative Muvo V200.

This contraption could also be a 512mb storage device also has an FM Radio and a Voice Recorder. It is actually a good buy because at the time when I bought it the sales lady told me that the Creative Muvo V200 was on sale. So I ended up getting a major discount, yeah!

Hope April enjoys her new MP3 Player! Love you!
